today is friday, i just got up late :P

so, in a rush to my building coz i had an english class today, i still had a chocolate milk to accompany me walking. 

during my walk, i just passed an old man, carrying his old bicycle with a orange sack hanging on the back side of his bicycle. he was holding a steel clamp and wearing the identity blue-jacket. i estimated his age must be over than 55 according to his all-white hair.

i saw him picking up the cigarette butts from the side of street with his clamp. i just stared at him and smile, he responded it. 

in my deep heart, i just keep wondering why he still have to do that. at his age, he should be stay at home and surrounded by his sons, daughters and grandchildren. then i asked my lab members about that, what happened in here…

he told me that old people in Korea don’t want to stay at home, they feel useless if only stay at home, so they try to get some easy work like cleaning environment, social cooking or even just watching the escalator in public places. beside that, the government give them good incentive, around 500.000 won a day if daily and around 2.000.000 won a month (well, i don’t know for sure for that)

well, this makes me re-think about happiness..

people always say happiness because money, possession and others, but for this old man, i do think his happiness is being useful for other people.

long time ago, my mom used to say “a good man is a man that always useful for another”
